Topic Group Participants Wanted

A key element of this forum, is to assemble ‘Topic Groups’ or ‘Forum Sub-Groups’ either for a one-off discussion about a particular topic, or to meet regularly to discuss particular issues affecting a particular industry for example.

So to kick us off, i’m looking for participants for 2 separate groups.

One-Off Discussion : the ‘Brexit’.
I’m looking for participants to attend a one off discussion to broadly discuss the ‘Brexit’ and whether it would be a positive or cause for concern for the work that HR practitioners do. This is likely to be in the context of our employers or customers than as HR professionals personally. This group would meet in the evening, midweek, on one occasion.

Sub-Group : Health & Social Care Sub-Group
I’m looking for HR professionals from the Health & Social Care industry who would be interested in meeting monthly (during working hours) to discuss the challenges we face in this industry and to share knowledge and ideas.

if anyone is interested in joining either group, please drop me an email at confirming which group you are interested in joining, by close of play Sunday 20th March 2016

To others who find neither group of interest, don’t worry – there’ll be lots of other groups in the future.

Thanks / Diolch

Welcome to the South Wales HR Forum

Welcome to the online home of the South Wales HR Forum, a voice of the South Wales HR Community. Formed in late 2015 by Mark Hendy, a HR professional from within the region with the aim of creating an independent and inclusive community with a ‘forum’ ethos.

The purpose of the forum is to hold several events throughout the year across South Wales in a ‘touring’ fashion to reach those from as far east as Newport and as far west as Pembrokeshire. These events will include;-

▪ Quarterly seminars featuring employment law updates from leading lawyers, combined with guest speakers who will typically be experienced HR practitioners presenting on specific questions as voted for and agreed by the forum members in advance.

▪ An annual conference with specialist speakers

▪ An annual dinner and awards ceremony, celebrating the achievements of talented HR professionals from the South Wales HR community

▪ Sub-committee meetings focussing on specific strands of HR and L&D, allowing members of the forum to share knowledge and produce ‘white papers’ to share these thoughts to the broader HR community across the UK.

The forum has an interactive presence on LinkedIn and so we recommend anyone wishing to join our community, visits the LinkedIn group page to get involved.

All events will be publicised here along with all Forum press and articles.

We hope you like our community and we look forward to seeing you at a Forum event soon.
